Les Trois Sources Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

Located where mulberry trees were once grown to feed silkworms, Les Trois Sources, nestled among lavender fields, vineyards, and cherry trees. Just a short drive from the village of Bonnieux, is an 18th-century fortified farmhouse with Renaissance parts wrapped around a large graveled courtyard, softened by potted plants and an old mulberry tree under which cheerful tables are set for breakfast. In its early history Les Trois Sources might have been a priory but today you find accommodations brimming with character. Your hosts, Caroline and Paul, bought the abandoned house and totally renovated it, with the goal of disturbing the architectural features as little as possible while adding all the amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. They have succeeded admirably. An awesome, wide, ancient stone spiral staircase leads to the bedrooms, four of which are huge (the fifth is also spacious by normal standards). The decorating complements to perfection the rustic nature of the very old structure: there is a rugged, natural, uncluttered look accented by some antique pieces, handsome white homespun bedspreads, original tiled floors, beamed ceilings, and thick castle-like walls. As an added bonus, there is a swimming pool in the garden.
