As you first enter the driveway of Domaine de la Brillane, you’ll pass through a peaceful vineyard: a fitting entrance to this enchanting experience. After twenty years in the financial world, Rupert, who’s English, decided to change his career. He bought the vineyard and Mary, who’s Belgian, joined him. Together they built their dream: a vineyard first, and then a handsome and intimate bed and breakfast. Your charming hosts do their best to make your stay unforgettable. And it’s clear that they achieve that goal, because staying in such a delightful bed and breakfast is an experience equaled only by the adventure of discovering new wines through the passion of your hosts. Guestrooms are in a separate part of the house, so privacy is never an issue. Each of the five rooms (all named after a vine) is spacious and comfortable, with contemporary furnishings and up-to-date conveniences. The Cabernet Sauvignon was my favorite, with breathtaking views over the Sainte Victoire mountain (the source of inspiration to Cézanne and many others). In the morning, enjoy a wonderful breakfast surrounded by pine and oak trees, and afterward why not go for a wine tour with Rupert?

Directions: From Aix, take direction Gap/Sisteron, A51. Drive to the N296 and exit N12 Aix les Platanes. On your left is Le Puy St. Reparade. After a few miles you’ll see a sign on your left for Couteron. Follow the sign to Domaine de la Brillane.
