Karen's Review Of This Property:

Set center stage in an attractive complex of weathered stone and ivy-covered buildings is the Château de Beaufer. It is a lovely château on an intimate scale dressed with white shutters and complete with end turrets and a gorgeous setting of lawn and surrounding forest. Doorways are framed by climbing roses and geraniums hang heavy from wrought-iron balconies. Six attractive, large guestrooms are found in the various buildings and enjoy pretty details such as stencil paintings, old furnishings, decorative plates, and lovely art. I particularly liked one that shared a climbing stair—dressed in colors of red and cream, it was beautiful, decorated with antiques set on handsome tile floors. The sitting room, next to the pool, with its exposed loft beams and massive rock fireplace, offers guests a spot to gather and watch television. The pool is gorgeous, set in the old stone walls with vistas out to the surrounding countryside. Breakfast is served on the terrace patio or indoors in the library or in the cozy turret room. Very friendly dogs shadow the owners, kittens frolic, and on a recent visit, we felt fortunate to observe endearing colts testing their legs, born just days before.
