La Doucinière is an enchanting inn, conveniently located just 30 minutes from the Paris, CDG airport—a heavenly spot to begin or end your holiday in France. Relax in total luxury for a fraction of the cost of a hotel in Paris. La Doucinière is an adorable, ivy-covered, 13th-century stone cottage, accented by white shutters and a walled garden with a lush lawn and beautifully manicured flower beds. In the main house there is one large bedroom elegantly decorated in a color scheme of peach. But splurge and request the deluxe room across the courtyard. This gorgeous room sets all standards for luxury and refinement. The room is decorated in pretty tones of pink and rose—a color scheme repeated from the beautiful fabric on the headboards to the sofa, lampshades, drapes, and carpet. The bathroom is incredibly splendid, with fixtures of superb quality. Although the town of Beaumarchais offers little charm, the location of this lovely inn is ideal.

Directions: From Paris or the Charles de Gaulle airport, take N2 toward “Soissons” to Othis. Then go straight in Othis and watch for the Chambres d’Hôtes sign on the right. Ask for a map when making reservations.

I was just guessing on the dates and I know it is old, but I just joined this website.We had the pleasure of spending one night there before returning home. At that time the host was Francoise Montrizier and everything was first class. We had a wonderful evening meal and many breakfast choices in our room with a very early taxi ride to the airport which she arranged. Our problem was our taxi ride from the airport to the B&B. The taxi driver tried to take advantage of us by taking detours and by charging us way too much. Our host came to our defense and sent him away. My advice would be to let the host make arrangements for you to be picked up by the taxi service they use. We had taken the train for central Paris to the airport thinking that would be easier and it was until we met the taxi driver. The place was very well decorated and very peaceful. I certainly would make a contact with the new host if I were returning to that area. I am looking forward to another trip in the future. I would recommend Karen Brown’s books to anyone. Good Job!
