Karen's Review Of This Property:
Casa del Sol B&B Inn

The charming Casa del Sol is located in the heart of Ajijic, a retirement haven for Americans and Canadians who have chosen this picturesque village for its equitable climate, pleasant setting on Lake Chapala, and proximity to Guadalajara. Your exceptionally gracious hostess, Cathy Roberts, fell in love with Ajijic while visiting friends. She decided to stay, bought a house located just a short walk to the plaza, and opened Casa del Sol to guests in January 2007—fulfilling her dream of a lovely place to stay where guests are warmly welcomed like friends of the family. Casa del Sol offers the personal attention usually associated with B&Bs, but it is really more like an intimate inn with its expansive areas for guests including a spacious lounge, breakfast area, cute bar, and a gorgeous swimming pool nestled in a lush garden. The inn is imbued with the flavor of Mexico with the generous use throughout of bold colors, wrought iron fixtures, hand-made Talavera tiles, antique accents, and handicrafts by local artisans. All of the nicely-decorated guestrooms (my favorites are those overlooking the garden) have top notch linens, comfortable mattresses, and very nice bathrooms, each with its own pretty tile pattern. Bouquets of fresh flowers abound throughout, adding to the home-like ambiance. Perched on the top level is a delightful terrace where guests can relax with a good book and enjoy views of the lake and mountains over the red-tiled rooftops.
