Karen's Review Of This Property:
La Fattoressa
On the extreme outskirts of Florence, the Fattoressa offers a location for dual exploration of both the city and the Tuscan countryside. One of the many marvelous attractions of Florence is how the countryside comes right up to the doors of the city and just behind the magnificent Certosa monastery you find the 15th-century stone farmhouse of the delightfully congenial Fusi-Borgioli family. They have transformed the farmer’s quarters into guest accommodations: four sweetly simple bedrooms plus two triples, each with its own spotless bathroom. Angiolina and Amelio, who have tended to this piece of land for many years, treat their guests like family and, as a result, enjoy receiving some of them year after year. Daughters-in-law Laura and Katia, who speak English, have been a great help in assisting guests with local itineraries. Visitors take meals “en famille” at long tables in the cozy, rustic dining room with a large stone fireplace (€25-€28 for dinner). Here Angiolina proudly serves authentic Florentine specialties using ingredients from her own fruit orchard and vegetable garden.

Traveler Reviews of
La Fattoressa:
(show / hide)
The Fattoressa is conveniently located off the autostrada. Also, it was an easy walk to catch the bus to Florence so we didn’t have to deal with parking.
Unfortunately, when we arrived no one could speak English. Katia had recently had a baby so she was not available to assist with plans so we were on our own. Angiolina did provide a written sheet of information in English about how to find the bus and the down town area of Galuzza.
We were most dissatisfied with the breakfast which consisted of yellow cake with powdered sugar dusting, cold toast, commercial packages of bisquits, tea and coffee. There was no fruit, cereal, or yogurt. (It was the poorest breakfast in the seven B & B’s we stayed in). We had the same fare the three days we were there.
The rooms were adequate but had very limited lighting. The mosquitoes were horrendous so when you opened the patio door, they swarmed the room. When the power shut off, while I was using the hair dryer, Angiolina got right in my face, speaking very loud Italian, and gestured that it was going to cost money to fix it. All that needed to be done was to trip the circuit breaker.
Curiously they never asked for our passports for documentation. (All of the other B & B’s and hotels did.) We wondered why but there was no way to ask.
We would not recommend this as a place to stay.

I really regret for this comment and I apologize for what it happens.
It is true, my third baby is born on the 5th of September and so I must stay with him for the total of the day...but I live on the main building , upstairs and I invited you to come to me WHENEVER you need (you came into my home just once, the day of your arrival) So , I am always at guest disposal into my apartment.
Angiolna can’t speak English , she is almost eighty years old, last summer lost her loved husband Amelio and sometimes could be a little "rude" to guests , speaking very loud but this tipical of Tuscany people.
As for breakfast, if you would like to have more, like orange juice, cereals , eggs you should ask .
Every green area , in summer, is full of mosquitos.
Regards,
Catia
