Villa Gnocchi
A Karen Brown Recommended B & B
Hosts: Simona & Roberto Gnocchi |

Karen's Review Of This Property:
Right in the heart of the chic (and expensive) Italian Riviera is an informal and homey B&B farm property hugging the hillside high above the ports of Portofino and Santa Margherita. Owner Roberto, has restored almost single-handedly the two small stone farmhouses on a piece of his grandfather’s property and welcomes guests along with his wife Simona and their three small children. Twelve colorfully decorated double rooms are divided between the two houses, each with air conditioning, private bath, some family antiques, and lovely panoramic views over the olive trees and fruit orchards all the way down to the sea. A cozy living room, inviting one to curl up with a book or to converse, gives visitors the feeling of being at the home of friends. In the small, beamed dining room or out in the panoramic terraced garden, a fresh breakfast is served. From Genoa to the marvels of Cinque Terre, the Ligurian coast holds some very special treasures, and the Gnocchi makes a perfect place from which to discover them. Arrival accepted without special arrangements before 1:30 pm or after 5 pm.

From Santa Margherita follow signs to Genova/S. Lorenzo uphill for about 4 km to a blue intersection sign. Just after the sign, about 90 meters before the intersection, take the narrow, steep and winding road on the left (at red-and-white bar gate) down to the end at a slow pace!
