Casa Stefazio

A delightful alternative to our other accommodations in Rome is Casa Stefazio, the only true in-home bed and breakfast. The location and setting are as perfect as the dedication and warm hospitality offered by Stefania and Orazio in their large, ivy-covered suburban home, just 16 kilometers from the very center of the city, surrounded by several acres of manicured garden and utter silence. On the lower level, with a separate entrance, are one bedroom and two spacious suites (with sauna) accommodating a family of four, each with its own immaculate bathroom, satellite TV, air conditioning, and mini-bar. The main areas include living room, large American-style kitchen, where the Azzolas work wonders, and eating area overlooking the expansive lawn and distant woods. Dinner is served on request under the pergola. Their style, in both decorating and easy entertaining, has obviously been influenced by their yearly winter sojourn in the States, which they adore. Sports activities such as horseback riding, tennis, golf, and swimming are easily arranged. The hosts also organize excursions for groups of friends throughout Italy. Highly recommended by readers.
