The 15th-century Santa Maria degli Angioli, whose façade is much less ornate than that of the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence, was originally built as a Franciscan monastery. However, its interior has a treasure: two 16th-century frescos by Bernardo Luini depicting the Crucifixion of Christ and the Last Supper. Their detail and rich colors are stunning.
