The museum displays original vessels and objects from Thor Heyerdahl's world famous expeditions. The balsa raft Kon-Tiki used to cross the Pacific Ocean in 1947 and the papyrus raft Ra II which sailed from Marocco to Barbados in 1970 are on display. The museum also displays some Easter Island statues and a model of the reed boat Tigris (the original was set ablaze on purpose by Heyerdahl and his international crew at the end of their voyage).
