The Viking Ship Museum is probably the most fascinating museum in Oslo. Here you will see some Viking ships, two of which are in remarkably good condition. They were found in burial sites where the condition of the clay soil worked as a preservative. As you look at these ships, the wonder of the impertinent bravery of the Vikings who took these vulnerable ships throughout the world - even to America - awes you. The beauty of the ships' sleek and lovely lines is astounding. Wonderful Viking sleds are also artfully displayed. The museum is open daily except for some holidays.
