The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, erected along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, is an Italian Renaissance-style cathedral built for the Irish Catholic immigrants who came to settle in Philadelphia. This magnificient cathedral was built in 1864 using the Lombard Church of St. Charles in Rome as a model.
