Haus Am Checkpoint Charlie
A Karen Brown Recommendation
Friedrichstraße 43-45 |
| Recenter Map To This Location |
The Haus Am Checkpoint Charlie is an unsophisticated yet poignant museum that tells the story of the wall with its many ingenious escape attempts, and shows the struggle for freedom throughout the world. Exhibitions, photos, and videos take you up and down stairs and through 15 little rooms to conclude in the Checkpoint Charlie Café. Some of the displays seem a bit slanted toward political propaganda, but then how can you ever overemphasize oppression? (9 am–10 pm, daily.)
