The 18th-century Schloss Weikersheim is filled with its original furniture, tapestries, porcelain, and gloomy family portraits. Once you are on the hour-long tour (German only), it’s hard to escape as you are locked into each floor of the castle as you enter it. Skip the tour, and go instead to admire the statues in the formal garden and the view of the Tauber valley. (9 am–6 pm, April to October; 10 am–noon and 2–4 pm, November to March.)
