Without fail see the Amphithéâtre Arena that once held 21,000 spectators, Maison Carrée(square house), two of the best-preserved Roman arenas and temples in the world. Also, don’t miss the magnificent fountain gardens.

The city of Nîmes is approximately 2000 years old.The Amphitheatre built at the end of the 1st century AD is one of the largest in Roman Gaul.Through the year many concerts and cultural events happen in this extraordinary place. ’La maison carrée’ is the only fully-preserved temple of the ancient world. Just in front The ’Carré d’Art’ built by N.Foster (http://www.nimes.fr/index.php?id=285&id_site=7) offers a rich collection of contemporary art since the 1960s.
