Musée du quai Branly

The newly opened Musée du quai Branly is rich in exotic visual appeal as it presents the indigenous arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. A quick walk from the Eiffel Tower, consider popping by for lunch before a tour of the museum as the lovely Café Branly sits pleasantly among the flowers in the gardens surrounding the museum.

The four story walls of the first building of the Musee du quai Branly have been covered in vegetation by the renowned designer of 'vertical landscapes', botanist Patrick Blanc. The wall vegetation is grown without soil as the water and nutrients are administered to the plants from the rooftop, collected at the base of the building and then re-directed back to the roof.
