Combining a modern structure into an old power station the Contemporary Jewish museum sits on a airy plaza opposite Yerba Buena Center and just round the corner from MOMA . I love the spaciousness of this museum, the great gift store, the cafe and the way the museum stays away from religious themes. For example the exhibit on the Torah Scroll is about making a Torah, not the content. The traveling exhibits – such as the one on Maurice Sendak –are excellent.
