The enthusiasm of this friendly and informal community, home to about 8,000 residents, will not escape you. Port Townsenders love to live here. They are proud of so many aspects of their community life, not the least of which is the abundance of resident and visiting artists of all disciplines who regularly present workshops, live events, and festivals. Whether it’s a film festival at the Rose Theatre downtown or a music festival at Centrum in Fort Worden State Park, the creative juices are definitely flowing here. Centrum presents a very active, summer festival season; in fact, featuring blues, fiddling, jazz, and literary arts, along with chamber music, dance, and theatricals throughout the year.
