At this point, from Arlington, take Route 7A towards Manchester, detouring for a short side trip along the scenic Equinox Skyline Drive, a 5½-mile drive to the top of Mount Equinox, the highest point in the Taconic Range. Views from the summit are especially wonderful in the fall when the foliage is at its best. There is a toll to drive the road but the tolls are well worth the cost.
