Brunswick is home to Bowdoin College, a well-regarded liberal arts school, and the Bowdoin College Museum of Art with its collections of early-American portraits and (annually from mid-May until mid-August) a display of the paintings, etchings, and memorabilia of the artist Winslow Homer.
