St John's College was founded in 1511 by Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII. The College is open to visitors from March to the end of October (10am to 5.30pm) and during weekends in February and November. Opening may be restricted from time to time during private College functions. St. John’s College backs onto the enclosed stone “Bridge of Sighs.”
