Karen's Review Of This Property:
You'll shift to relaxation mode the minute you arrive at the enchanting Turtleback Farm Inn, set on 80 acres of gentle green pasture to rival any in Ireland. The only sounds are the wind through trees and the bleating of sheep. The main inn is beautifully and meticulously restored to its original Folk National design, painted a handsome hunter green with pale-yellow trim, and clearly the work of fine craftsmen. Guestrooms are elegant, with comfortable couches and rocking chairs, all decorated gracefully in tones of taupe, rose, and green. Bathrooms are immaculate: polished fir floors with matching wainscoting, claw-foot tubs with sunflower shower heads (some have separate showers), pedestal sinks, and some pull-chain toilets. The newer Orchard House is built of cedar to resemble a barn, and sits some distance from the main house. Its four, lovely rooms are very private, self-sufficient suites. As an option in these rooms, breakfast is delivered through "trap" doors, like those in a dumbwaiter, so you don't have to venture out of your room. Turtleback is a working farm, where breakfast eggs are gathered from resident chickens, bed comforters are lined with the wool of resident sheep, and fruit comes from the farm and orchard.

Directions: From the ferry, head left up the hill for about 3 miles. Turn left on Deer Harbor Road, drive almost 1 mile, and turn right on Crow Valley Road. The inn is on the right after about 2½ miles.
