Karen's Review Of This Property:
Situated on 5 green acres close to what was once home to Orcas Island's first fruit-packing company, the Inn at Ship Bay is a wonderful, small complex with new accommodations overlooking restful Ship Bay. Three, two-level shingled buildings, painted to blend with the 1869 vintage farmhouse, call to you from the road. All rooms are modest in size and similarly decorated in contemporary country style with a subtle northwestern twist: gorgeous walls painted in mustard; king-sized, pillow-top beds with fine linens, down comforters, and beautiful quilts; oversized couches in rich fabrics of green, rose and cream; hurricane lamps as lights. All have gas Franklin Stoves, refrigerators, wet bars, sparkling bathrooms, good showers, and very private decks with water views. Ask about the Sunset Suite, which offers the most space. A Continental breakfast is served every morning. At night, saunter over to the restaurant in the wonderfully restored, 1869 vintage farmhouse boasting original hammered-tin walls and ceilings, a sun porch, and a patio overlooking the water. The menu features fresh, locally farmed fruits and vegetables—along with sustainably harvested seafoods and antibiotic/hormone-free meats and poultry.
