Karen's Review Of This Property:
Nestled in the trees and with its deck jutting over the wildlife pond, The Lodge is the largest and most remarkable of six log cottages on 25 acres of woodland. Antiques handed down the family line as well as those from Mary Jane's collecting days, fill the space; including rarities like an old church collection box with coin slots labeled for different charities. Upstairs the loft space goes on and on, with a king-sized bed and two Jacuzzi tubs, one in a cozy corner under a skylight and a second overlooking the glass-enclosed living area below. Downstairs are a full kitchen, two sitting and two dining areas, a stone fireplace, and massive windows capturing the lovely, serene views. In the other cottages, wooded paths lead from one to the other, but you'd never know you had neighbors. All have about them the feeling of a cozy, rustic home in the Appalachian Mountains, complete with rocking porches, modern amenities and names like The Kentucky and Emma Jane's Tennessee. They are self-sufficient, island homes with full kitchens. To add to a welcoming "lived in" quality, all are readied for your arrival: the river-rock fireplace is ready to light, the table is set, the lights are on, and the pantry is full. Guests enjoy the use of a small exercise room, and a swimming pool and hot tub surrounded by lawn and flowers. This is the perfect choice for a peaceful getaway.
