Karen's Review Of This Property:
La Conner is a charming Victorian village tucked along the edge of the Swinomish Channel in a lush region that boasts the riches of both farming and fishing. Quaint shops and restaurants line the village streets, and the Channel Lodge is the only accommodation in town that enjoys a lovely waterside setting. A long, rambling, three-story building, weathered timbers and shakes dress the front of the lodge’s façade. The reception is just off the entry and opposite a snug lounge set in front of a river-rock fireplace whose chimney climbs to the open second floor landing which opens onto a lovely outdoor deck. Tucked off the lobby is a small sitting area/library whose piano is center stage, enhancing a wine reception hosted Friday and Saturday evenings. Guestrooms, the majority of which enjoy private decks and overlook the water passageway, are attractive in their décor of beiges, blues and exposed woods, and have gas fireplaces. Even the “standard” rooms enjoy a sitting area. Most definitely request a water view, and in warmer months enjoy the parade of boats as they navigate the channel. First floor rooms enjoy access to paths that extend from the private decks. The expansive buffet breakfast offers lots of choices. Cookies and hot beverages are always available. Consider dining in with excellent food delivered from the Nell Thorn restaurant.
