Karen's Review Of This Property:
For an authentic taste of Bavaria—not kitsch, but the genuine article—treat yourself to a stay at Abendblume Pension, a unique and imposing inn set in a spacious green valley surrounded by mountains. In 1994, Randy and Renee Sexauer transformed their passion for Bavarian architecture and traditions into a luxurious guesthouse experience. You’ll notice the stunning staircase railing as soon as you enter: it’s the innovative creation of a Czechoslovakian metal artist now living in Leavenworth, and one of many elements of fine artistry and craftsmanship that make this Bavarian dream home so appealing. Look for Randy’s handiwork in the gorgeous living-room mantel or in the wood-paneled ceiling in the breakfast room. Guestrooms are radiant and opulent. Whether modest or extravagant, all are open and light with fresh touches of Bavaria you won’t see except abroad, like the unique way the comforters are folded. No matter which room you choose, you can’t go wrong: feather beds and comforters; fine, ironed linens; beautiful tile work; fresh flowers. Enjoy a European buffet in the morning, complete with muesli, meats, and cheeses, until Renee brings one of her inspired hot dishes to the table. Abendblume achieves the theme approach with taste and style.
