Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Goodstone Estate is nestled on 265 acres in the rich farmland and horse country of Virginia. It seemed fortunate and serendipitous that we happened on this peaceful and tranquil property. The reception, restaurant, and four guestrooms are found in The Carriage House where guests settle in front of the large stone fireplace to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea. The restaurant, where guests can enjoy either breakfast or an evening meal, enjoys a peaceful setting overlooking the creek. Climb a steep flight of stairs to what was one of my favorite rooms, the cozy and romantic Hayloft, decorated in the soft blue-cream reminiscent of the French countryside and set under angled eaves. The former stables house some of the most popular accommodation: the Mare’s and the Stallion Suites, both large corner rooms with cozy interiors. The other guestrooms are found in separate buildings on the property and each building has a lovely common area. Behind the ivy-covered ruins of the original house a pool is set in an expanse of lawn, looking out to rolling hills. A round of golf, use of canoes and bikes are included in the tariff.
