Karen's Review Of This Property:
When a historic home in what was a city’s grandest neighborhood is made into an inn welcoming guests from near and far, everyone wins. Such is the case with the Willard Street Inn, a stately Georgian/Queen Anne Revival-style mansion built in 1881 in the hill section of Burlington with views out to Lake Champlain. This is a home of high ceilings, richly ornate woodwork, and grand staircases. Bedrooms are very large and while they all begin with their Victorian heritage, they are all completed with uniquely appointed decor and private bathrooms. Victorian Cabernet is, as you would expect, warm and inviting; Nantucket with its carved, four-poster king bed is elegantly spacious; and the sitting area in the turret of the Tower Room offers views of the lake will spoil you without a doubt. The Woodhouse Suite, named for the original owner, has a loveseat facing a gas stove and a tiled, two-person shower. Breakfast, served in the solarium, features Vermont products, seasonal items from the gardens, and a delightful dash of the unexpected. Enjoy a cup of afternoon tea in the English round garden, or stroll the 1.5 acres of lawn and gardens. From the inn you can walk to Burlington’s universities, the waterfront, the Church Street Marketplace, shops and restaurants.
