Buhl Mansion Guesthouse & Spa is a grand tribute to a couple, the Buhls, who made a fortune in steel, and then generously shared their wealth by giving so much back to the town and region. They ensured that a park, golf course and the library would be maintained forever on the funds left. Quite tragically, as they were childless, their home eventually left the family. Over the next several decades the home endured a revolving door of owners and overtime it was gutted and reduced to shambles as chandeliers, furnishings, fireplaces, and the grand stairway were dismantled and sold to cover debts. Vagrants even burned moldings to heat their camping spots. Modern day philanthropists, Mr. and Mrs. Winner, sight unseen, purchased the home to save it from demolition, and invested a fortune to restore the home. With the exception of the woodwork and fireplaces of the rooms found at the top of the stairs, which could not be reached and vandalized because of the missing stairs, everything is new. Opulent and grand, the décor is lavish with every luxurious detail included. Neighbored by retail establishments, the heavy stone-turreted mansion is set back off the road, nestled in its own gardens. The recent addition of a full service spa makes the Buhl Mansion an even more decadent and wonderful hideaway.
