When's the last time you enjoyed cabaña service on the beach? From Memorial Day to Labor Day, you can expect it at Surfsand Resort, where hale and hardy lads set up lawn chairs and windbreaks. When we visited, the resort was hard at work preparing for summer activity. This is a great choice for families who are looking for luxurious accommodations; a pampering, friendly, energetic staff; and lots of events for the kids: sandcastle competitions, and even a dog show. Several different styles of rooms are available, so ask the reservationist to help you select the right one. Whether you choose a studio or a spacious suite, all rooms are well appointed. The oceanfront Jacuzzi suites are the best in terms of space and decor: very handsome and contemporary. All have at least partial views of the beach, Haystack Rock, Ecola State Park, and Tillamook Head Lighthouse. An indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, fitess and massage center are available.
