Innkeepers who care about their guests in a truly personal way, who come to know them, and who are devoted to fulfilling their needs must have been trained by Julie and John Sullivan. They set the standard in the hospitality industry for creating a superb guest experience, a standard exemplified by the touches in the bedrooms that include all the amenities a guest would want—extra towels, a hairdryer, plenty of places to sit and relax, a wood-burning fireplace that’s set and lit by the innkeeper before you retire for the evening. In the early evening guests enjoy a selection of wonderful hors d’oeuvres on the glassed-in porch, visiting with the innkeepers while enjoying drinks such as freshly pressed apple cider. Dinners are served nightly on request for a minimum of six people. Breakfasts are fabulous and include a selection of fresh fruit presented on a silver tray—there were probably a dozen varieties of fruit on the morning we were at the inn. The hot entrée selections would make a restaurant blush in the variety of offerings, accompanied by local sausage or thick slices of bacon. There were egg dishes, pancakes, French toast, and freshly baked muffins accompanied by jams that were sensuous in their richness of flavor. As we drove away from the inn, we knew that we had been treated by our hosts in an unparalleled way.
