Karen's Review Of This Property:
What’s special about this inn, and makes it stand tall among other inns, is its innkeepers; there are few who match the easy charm of Kim and Mark. What’s unusual and fun about this inn is that it runs a series of workshops for artists and quilt artists, from novice to expert, with a different instructor each week. There is even a chocolate shop featuring Mark’s handmade chocolates. Travelers in the area are welcome to stay at the inn even if not participating in one of the classes. The guestrooms are located in three buildings: the main inn offers several rooms with both a queen and a single bed, while in the carriage house just across the babbling stream and in the new building some rooms have two-person spa tubs. On Sunday through Friday the Greenville Arms serves a set dinner and on Saturday guests are provided with menus from local restaurants. Special features of the property include a swimming pool, croquet court, and flowering gardens. Guests can enjoy the activities of the Hudson River Valley and of the northern Catskill Mountains. The Greenville Arms is the former home of William Vanderbilt who in 1889 left New York City for a more tranquil existence.
