Welcome to Friends Lake Inn; welcome to a style of hospitality in upper New York where late spring explodes with beauty and warm summers brim over with things to do at the lake, on the trails, or at the edge of the pool. Fall, with its vivid colors, is an artist’s dream, and winter brings peace and quiet interrupted by the holidays and decorations from tip to toe. Such is the year at the Friends Lake Inn. The Adirondack Lodge rooms are the most popular of the guestrooms. The Great Room has a king bed with head and footboards made of tree limbs, while its oversized stone hearth and fireplace spread glow and warmth. Other bedrooms, most with canopy beds, have more traditional décor but, whatever the style, all rooms are comfortable and have private baths. Second-floor rooms overlooking the lake have access to a private balcony where many a good hour can be spent watching the trees grow and the lake shimmer with the changing light. Guests have the use of a common room with Craftsman and Adirondack furniture and on the first floor you find the main dining room. Dinner is served five nights a week off season and every night in high season. The award-winning restaurant is known for its new-American cuisine. Downstairs you will discover the wine bar and bistro as well as the billiard room.

Directions: Leave I-87 at exit 25 onto Route 8 west for 3½ miles. Turn left at Friends Lake Road, bear right at the fork for 1 mile then turn right for 8/10 mile to the inn.
