Karen's Review Of This Property:
Set just off Main Street in the charming town of Nantucket is the Union Street Inn, dating back to about 1770. From there you can walk to all the town’s historic homes, shops, and galleries, so you’ll only need transportation to visit the more distant villages like Siasconset and Wauwinet (bikers might welcome the challenge). This is an exceptional, attractively decorated inn whose bedrooms have queen and king beds, often four-posters, and fireplaces. Room 3 on the first floor could well be my favorite with its red curtains and bed drapes and the two wing chairs in front of the fireplace. Across the hall, room 1 has a queen bed and green and white toile decorating the walls and bed. Upstairs, room 14 with its soft patterned wallpaper has a queen pencil-post bed and views out of its windows to neighboring trees and an ivy-covered hillside. Rooms have cable TV, Frette linens, duvets, bathrobes, and air conditioning. A full, cooked breakfast is served either in the dining room, on the terrace, or in your own room, and “goodies” are offered in the afternoon. The inn provides a walking tour through some of the old cobblestone streets to many of the town’s charming homes, churches, and scenic sights. Numerous restaurants are close by: menus and suggestions are available from the innkeepers.
