Karen's Review Of This Property:
Sturbridge’s location at the intersection of the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) and I-84 (between Connecticut and Massachusetts) gives it a perfect position for travelers coming and going through New England. The Publick House Historic Inn offers a selection of places to stay: the Publick House, the Chamberlain House, and the Country Lodge. Rooms at inns are more our cup of tea but if you do stay at the lodge you’ll find attractive motel-like rooms with private balconies. The Chamberlain House features six gracious suites. At the Publick House Historic Inn the simply but comfortably furnished rooms (all non-smoking) are part of a building dating back to 1771—this inn has served as a tavern and pub since pre-Revolutionary days. In this building you find two different dining rooms: The Tap Room and Ebenezer’s Tavern. The Dining Room, where I can attest to the deliciousness of the fabulous lobster pie or the turkey dinner, is also where breakfast is served. For a different ambiance but with the same menu for lunch or dinner you might want to settle in Ebenezer’s Tavern. Historic Sturbridge Village is just a few minutes’ drive away.
