Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Isaiah Jones Homestead, built in 1849, has many wonderful antiques of the sort that you would love to have in your own home. However, my envy of those antiques extends beyond the furniture, for I would love to install the graceful curved staircase leading from the front hall to the bedrooms in my home in California. The gathering room has an 11-foot ceiling and crown molding reminiscent of the Victorian era in which the home was built. Toast your toes by the fireplace and relax with a cup of tea nestled by the window. Breakfasts, served by candlelight at the mahogany dining table, are welcoming with the early-morning aroma of freshly baked breads and delicious entrees. All the bedrooms have queen or king size beds, either a fireplace or glass-front stove, and four have whirlpool tubs. The Weeks room has a king bed, sitting room, and a bathroom with a two-person spa. The inn has a living room that welcomes you and a breakfast room that is filled with morning sunshine. There’s a small porch where you can sit and rock while reading a good book. The location is ideal for walking into the center of the village of Sandwich, to the Glass Museum, the antique shops, and to the restaurants. Being just 3 miles east of the Sagamore Bridge, Sandwich is a great spot for an extended stay at the start or the end of your trip to Cape Cod.
