Karen's Review Of This Property:
In the center of the lovely town of Sandwich, one of the gateways to Cape Cod, sits the Dan'l Webster Inn. The inn, the oldest in the country, occupies the site of a tavern built before the American Revolution and named for its most famous resident. This is a full-service inn with a cozy tavern, an informal dining room with a large fireplace, and a formal dining room with a glass wall looking onto an enclosed courtyard and garden. These are especially attractive spots where you can enjoy both the ambiance and the food. In the tavern the food focuses on tasty appetizers, a variety of salads, burgers, sandwiches, and, in the evening, a number of entrees. If you prefer a more gourmet meal, head for the restaurant where the emphasis is on fresh seafood, with plenty of additional choices for meat lovers. All guestrooms are attractively appointed with period furniture including canopy or four-poster beds, highboy dressers, desks, and overstuffed chairs. I enjoyed a lovely, newer room with a fireplace, canopy bed, luxurious spa tub, and heated marble floor in the bathroom. For breakfast you will receive a voucher towards the purchase of your choice off the à la carte menu. In addition to the inn’s outdoor swimming pool, amenities include a full-service spa for men and women featuring 100% organic products.
