Karen's Review Of This Property:
Combsberry 1730 is an English country manor on the eastern shore of Maryland that exudes the country charm of an old home where history and architecture come together to provide some unique accommodations. This inn is out in the countryside and its very location makes you pause and relax in the beauty of your surroundings. The seven large bedrooms, each with its own bath, are sumptuously decorated with floral wallpapers and fabrics, making spring and summer ever present. The two-story Oxford Cottage has a queen-size white and brass bed, a fireplace in the living room, French doors leading to a brick terrace, and a luxurious bathroom with a double sink and a Jacuzzi. Views of the water are everywhere in this inn, especially from the kitchen and dining area where a wide expanse of windows floods the room with sunlight and brightness. A full breakfast is served either here or in the formal dining room. Other rooms have steep stairs to second-floor bedrooms and baths, making ingenious use of the space available in an historic building. This inn has formal and informal gardens, with lovely old box hedges and masses of flowers during the summer in the annual and perennial gardens. Nearby Oxford, an interesting and very old town on the river, is a great place for sightseeing and walking the streets.
