Inns located among the hustle and bustle of major cities provide travelers with an alternative to the facelessness of many hotels. While Celie’s Waterfront B&B is not fancy or pretentious, its location in the historic Fell’s Point waterfront renewal area of downtown Baltimore makes it an attractive in-town inn for visitors to the city. Water taxis provide a delightful means of transportation to shopping, the sports stadiums, the convention center, the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Medical Center, and cultural events. The inn’s seven bedrooms and two suites either provide limited views of the harbor itself or look inward into the city of Baltimore. Guestrooms are comfortably but simply furnished and two large rooms have wood-burning fireplaces. Four rooms offer single whirlpool tubs and two have their own private balconies. Guests enjoy a small common room with wood-burning fireplace on the first floor, a dining room with a rectangular table for breakfast (Continental), and a garden, which in summer is a delightful place to relax and have breakfast. Whether you’re in Baltimore for business or pleasure, robes, TV/VCRs, telephones with answering machines, modems, desks, fax machines, refrigerators, and coffee makers are all there to make your visit a pleasurable one. There’s a spectacular rooftop deck with wonderful views of the harbor.
