The Ceilidh Place Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

Roses climb up the walls of what was once a row of fishermen’s cottages in Ullapool a popular holiday resort, ferry terminal and fishing port on the shores of Loch Broom, a broad sea loch. Now it’s known as the Ceilidh Place. Ceilidh (pronounced “kaylee”) is Gaelic for meeting socially and you certainly have lots of opportunities to do that here for you’ll find locals and visitors alike about the place: selecting a book in the book store, enjoying a drink at the bar, dinner at the restaurant, or an evening’s musical entertainment. The restaurant serves food all day and evening so you’ll have lots of opportunities to sample the specials posted on the board and no excuse not to try a slice or two of Elsies’ homemade cakes. Upstairs the bedrooms are contemporary in their décor, often with a built-in desk and fitted furniture—each contains a selection of books recommended by folks who work at or frequent the Ceilidh Place (but no TV). The bookstore carries all the recommended selections. Guests have a spacious upstairs sitting room with its homey mix of furniture arranged in cozy seating areas, tea- and coffee-makings, and honor bar. Possible day trips include Inchnadamph Caves, Ardvreck Castle, and Lochinver with its heart-stopping views.
