Karen's Review Of This Property:
Drumsheugh Gardens is a quiet square of Victorian townhouses grouped round a leafy garden just three minutes’ walk from Princes Street. Three of these spacious townhouses have been beautifully restored as The Bonham hotel, which offers the elegance of an old exterior, a spacious interior, a tongue-in-cheek modern decor, and the most up-to-date of everything. You feel like Alice standing before the enormous looking glasses in the dining room, while in the sitting room there’s the Cheshire cat sculpture sitting beside the fire, inviting you to sit on the circular cherry-red couch that swirls upward to an enormous light fixture. Bedrooms range in size from petite to grand suites and range in their decor from sedate to vibrant. Several enjoy lovely views over the Firth of Forth. A great many have whimsical touches such as a mural of a parrot in a porthole in a room with a nautical theme and an ornate chimney pot painted on the bedhead in a spacious room overlooking the rooftops. Bedrooms are in the forefront of technology, with an integrated system that turns the TV into a computer screen and provides CD audio, DVD, and full Internet access. Beds are large, bathrooms gleamingly modern.
