Karen's Review Of This Property:
This former ferry inn on the shore of Loch Linne continues to offer a level of hospitality rare in today’s world. While traditional features are the priority this hotel manages to combine them with up to the minute services more usually associated with the modern boutique hotel. This rare combination is achieved through the personal involvement of the owners Shaun and Jenny MacKivragan. Paul Burns, Scottish National hotel chef of the year 2004 and 2007, continues to create culinary masterpieces with an emphasis on local produce, taking advantage of the abundance of fresh fish. Shaun and Jenny wrote to say that several of the smaller bedrooms have recently been enlarged. All are beautifully appointed with lovely fabrics, quality furniture, and very nice bathrooms. My favorites are the snug attic rooms that look out over the loch. The attentive staff ensures you do not have to haul your luggage up the narrow stairs. Alternatively you may want to request a main-floor room with a loch view. The loch suite also enjoys loch views both from the bedroom and the sitting room and has an immaculate, large bathroom. For more privacy opt for Bramble Cottage, a luxurious two bedroom cottage in the grounds. Culinary courses, gourmet nights and mushroom-picking weekends are offered. Enjoy the putting green, the croquet lawn and the utter tranquility of this picturesque spot.
