The Old Rectory Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

Set in 12 acres of pasture on an upper reach of the River Avon, The Old Rectory dates back to the 14th century. It is now home to the Eldred family and their assortment of dogs, cats, and horses. The house is surrounded by its gardens (which provide flowers and seasonal produce for the house) and orchard. Two ample bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are elegantly furnished with pretty fabrics, antiques, and pictures. An open fire warms the drawing room on cooler days, while the tennis court and heated swimming pool beckon in summer. Breakfast is served in the dining room. Nearby Bath and Malmesbury provide a wide range of possibilities for lunch and dinner. Don’t miss out on a short visit to the village church, accessible though a gate in the garden wall. There are many places of interest round and about: Blenheim Palace (home of the Churchills, including the great soldier, the Duke of Marlborough); Oxford (with its colleges and punting on the river); Bath (famous for its Romans baths and Georgian architecture); and the Cotswold villages.
