Karen's Review Of This Property:

An ideal location for touring East Anglia, Fordham is within a half hour drive of Cambridge, Ely, Bury St., Edmunds, and Lavenham. It is just outside Newmarket, the horseracing capital of England, and no one is more passionate about all things equine than Malcolm Roper. He arranges and conducts day-long tours that take guests to early-morning gallop watching, around the trainers’ yards, and visiting the studs (early booking essential). Back home Jan takes care of guests, always ready with a smile and a pot of tea. I especially liked the spacious twin-bedded room (beds can be zipped together) with its stripped-pine woodwork and furniture—its private bathroom is across the hall. Jan often rents it to families in conjunction with a small single-bedded room. A delightful double room has a tiny en suite shower room. For complete privacy, Jan has three simply furnished rooms (one en suite, two sharing a shower room)and a suite (bedroom and separate sitting room) in an adjacent converted barn. The first floor of the barn is a self-catering apartment for 4 to 6. There are excellent restaurants and pubs within walking distance.
