Karen's Review Of This Property:
Priory Steps, a row of 17th-century weavers’ cottages high above the town of Bradford on Avon. The village tumbles down the hill to the banks of the River Avon, its narrow streets full of interesting shops and antique dealers. A few miles distant, the glories of Bath await exploration, easily accessible by car or local train. Hostess Diana is a gourmet cook and guests dine “en famille” in the traditionally furnished dining room. While Diana’s cooking is reason enough to spend several days here, the adjacent library with its books and pamphlets highlighting the many places to visit in the area provides additional justification. The bedrooms are all very different, each accented with antique furniture. Each has a smart modern bathroom, television, and tea and coffee tray. On a recent visit we particularly admired Sue’s room. There is a touch of whimsy in the bathroom of the dark-beamed Frog Room where an odd frog or two has inspired former guests to send their own contributions to an ever-growing collection of the creatures. If you are travelling with a family or would like to stay for several days consider staying in the adjacent apartment with its especially spacious open plan kitchen, dining, living room and snug twin beded bedroom.
