Karen's Review Of This Property:
Beryl, a Gothic Revival mansion on thirteen acres of grounds just a mile from Wells Cathedral, is a grand house full of lovely antiques and home to Holly Nowell and her family. The measure of her success is the large number of returning guests who bring their family, friends, and even dogs (provided that they are compatible with the resident toy poodles and cats). The green room (where you can help yourself to drinks from the honesty bar and watch the telly), and the drawing room are yours to enjoy. If you have difficulty with stairs there’s a stair lift. All the bedrooms have special features with most of the principal bedrooms being larger and grander. Choose Winston if you have a passion for grand, old-fashioned, climb-into bathtubs, Butterfly (a twin or king) or Master (a grand four-poster with a view from the loo) if you enjoy space and want to wake up with Wells Cathedral framed in the enormous bay windows. Attic rooms are cozy by comparison though all are very nicely furnished and decorated. For dinner there’s a choice of several restaurants or the local pub a short drive away. Be sure to visit daughter Mary-Ellen and Edward’s jewelry boutique in the coach house. Wells is England’s smallest city, with a most glorious cathedral.
