Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Hostellerie Bon Accueil is an outstanding little inn, brimming with old-world charm. The weathered wood chalet accented by green shutters and window boxes overflowing with geraniums dates back almost 300 years and still reflects the warmth and character of its farmhouse origins. Conveniently close to the famous ski resort of Gstaad, the inn hugs a sunny hillside overlooking Château d’Oex, a village famous for the production of cheese. Many chalet-style hotels look extremely appealing from the outside but most, disappointingly, seem to revert to a more sterile, modern ambiance once you enter the front door. Such is definitely not the case at the Hostellerie Bon Accueil. The owners have lovingly maintained a romantic, cozy appeal inside as well as out. The beautifully maintained hotel is endearing throughout with low, beamed ceilings, soft lights, mellow wood paneling, and an abundance of country-style antiques. The guestrooms are as sweet as they can be, with pretty floral fabrics and cute white embroidered curtains accenting the windows. The food is excellent and the restaurant is lovely with candlelit dining. In summer, however, the large terrace is the favorite spot to enjoy a meal with a view of the mountains to whet the appetite.
