Another innkeeper cautioned me that this Inn would, “knock my socks off!” Indeed, this is a beautiful property set behind private gates, on a 5 acre estate close to the village of New Hope. A cluster of brick, stone and wood buildings huddle below the circular drive. The main house, the owner’s home, contains the reception, breakfast room and garden conservatory as well as the Manor Suite. Steps terrace down to the pool that overlooks the woodland, stream and stone bridge. The Tower Suite with its own living room, bedroom and bathroom is located in an adjoining building. Climb a stair from the living room of the Tower Suite to access the Tower Suite Loft a cozy room rented only in conjunction with the Suite. Four additional rooms are tucked away across the courtyard in the Carriage House. One enjoys its own entrance and three are off an interior stair and share a common sitting area. My favorite two rooms mirror each other: Pond Vista and Orchard Retreat—both corner rooms, that enjoy serene views and open on to decks. As we toured the inn I recalled the fellow innkeeper’s comment and agreed that, yes, this is a superlative hotel, but I decided it is owners, rather than the inn’s physical attributes that make this property exceptional. In fact, Lynne was just voted innkeeper of the year!

Directions: From Philadelphia take 1-95 North to New Hope exit 51. Turn north onto Taylorsville Rd. Turn left onto Lurgan Rd.
