If you are looking for an impeccably kept bed and breakfast with romantic charm, lovely gardens, gorgeous swimming pool, unbeatable location, and warmth of welcome, you will find nowhere better than the Casa Schuck Boutique B&B. It is truly a jewel, with amazingly low rates for such quality. Like so many beautiful old colonial homes, the exterior gives little hint of the beauty inside, but behind the thick front door you discover a charming, flower-filled garden courtyard whose lower terrace accesses some of the guestrooms and a dining room. If you are staying for a while, I recommend requesting one of the upstairs suites, which are exceptionally spacious, some with large balconies, others a terrace, and definitely a bargain. All the rooms face the courtyard and have high beamed ceilings and working fireplaces. My favorite is the suite just above the swimming pool. Speaking of swimming pools, this one is really a dream: cozily tucked into an old stone wall and bounded on one side by a carved balustrade, it is enhanced by masses of potted geraniums, has a dear statue of Mary and baby Jesus, and, to top it off, is guarded by a friendly lion sculpture. The Casa Schuck is a rare find for those looking for charm, quality, and location.
