Karen's Review Of This Property:
Campeche is an exceptionally alluring port town with a rich history. Adding to its appeal are narrow streets lined by brightly painted houses, a picturesque plaza, excellent museums, and an old fortress. In addition, there are great archaeological sites nearby, making this a wonderful destination for tourists. If you are looking for a larger, remarkably well-priced, really nice place to stay with a great location, the Hotel Plaza Campeche, which opened in 2004, is an excellent choice. On one side it faces onto a small park, on the other side is the Circuito Baluuartes, a main boulevard that wraps around the city. Although the hotel is not within the once-walled historic center, it is literally steps away. Once you cross the street, you are in the most attractive part of the old town and within two blocks of the cathedral and the plaza. Although newly built, the mustard yellow façade, accented by white trim and wrought iron balconies, melts right in with its centuries-old neighbors. Inside you find a very attractive, immaculate, nicely furnished hotel. The dining room and one section have large windows, framed by handsome swag draperies, looking out to the swimming pool. The spacious guestrooms offer every modern comfort and all the amenities that business travelers crave including a business center onsite.
